Bailey Developments was formed in 1999 by David and Patti
Bailey, based on their own experiences of solving problems
associated with boating. They often found that the 'essential'
gadget required to do a simple job was simply not available!
So they decided to make the gadgets themselves. The Levitator
is the first product to be launched commercially, and has
been sold to over 12 countries.
Everyone
who has a boat knows the scenario - you have made the most
of a rare sunny afternoon and taken your beautiful boat
out of the Marina for a cruise. You get back to the berth
- start to wash the boat down - and realistically can only
do one side due to the lack of pontoon! So, you end up on
deck, leaning precariously over the side trying to make
the hosepipe go where you want!
David
made the first prototype out of washing machine hose - and
it worked! Everyone walking past whilst the gadget was in
operation said 'where did you get that - it's brilliant'.
The design was improved, a production facility was sourced,
a patent applied for and they haven't looked back.
